Urban farming is the practice of growing, harvesting, and distributing food within a city or urban area. This form of agriculture can take many different forms, ranging from rooftop gardens and community gardens to hydroponic systems and vertical farms. Urban farming is becoming increasingly popular as a way to increase access to locally grown, fresh produce, reduce the environmental impact of food production and transportation, and create green spaces in urban areas. This research area explores the feasibility, benefits, challenges, and best practices of implementing urban farming initiatives in urban environments.
